I’m starting off this post wishing a very happy birthday to our family dog, Brownie girl. She is FIFTEEN years young today! Please help me wish this cutie a happy birthday and another happy, treat-filled year.

Jenny's dog, Brownie with mouth open and tongue out.

Ok, now onto today’s distraction. Below are some links that are keeping me busy and entertained lately. Feel free to drop links below in the comments!

ONE // This adorable little baby penguin hatched at the the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans and was named after Zion Williamson, the superstar NBA rookie playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, and the generosity he’s shown his team’s local community. If you aren’t familiar with the NBA player, he recently pledged to pay for 30 days worth of wages for the Smoothie King Center’s (where the Pelicans play) out of-work staffers during the coronavirus pandemic. Other NBA players have also pledged the same.

TWO // Four young adults, who are also choristers at the Wells Cathedral, recently shared some live song with their neighbors in Wells, England. I was lucky enough to visit Wells last summer, and I’m sure this was a special moment for their street to hear.

THREE // John Krasinski has gone full stir-crazy and started his own talk show, Some Good News. His first episode features a – you guessed it – some good news stories going on in the world and also – a real treat: a 15-year reunion interview with Steve Carell.

FOUR // Christina Tosi, the brilliant pastry chef behind Milk Bar, announced she’s starting her very own baking club – for free on Instagram! Join her on Instagram every day at 2pm EST to see what she’s baking up. If you’re not familiar with Tosi, she’s the genius behind “crack” pie, compost cookies, cereal milk, and these amazing birthday cakes. If you like what you see, definitely check out her episode on Netflix’s Chef’s Table. And if baking is too much right now or you can’t access the right ingredients, Milk Bar is still shipping nationwide!

That’s all for now. Hope you’re staying sane and finding things to distract yourself. And, most important, I hope you’re staying home if you’re privileged enough to be able to do so. Stay safe.

xo
