We had our first real fall-like day in New York last week, but the temperature has creeped up ever so slightly to make it feel a little like summer again. Nevertheless, it’s October, and I’m ready to welcome some cooler weather and all the Hygge feelings (although, lagom might be the new fad?!). (Not to mention my body isn’t a fan of the up-and-down-and-up-again weather!)
While it might not feel like fall yet, there’s a few things I’ve found that are helping me get into the fall mindset.
A Good Cup of Coffee
Not going to lie, I’m not the best at making coffee at home. It’s feels so much more simple to pop into Starbucks on the way to work in the morning to grab something sweet and flavored, so I really only make it at home on the weekends. This is on my list of things to cut back on, so I was a little too excited when I came across a pumpkin spice creamer last time I popped into the grocery store. In addition to lowering my coffee spending, it’s also getting me into the fall mood.
A Good Cup of Tea
As a basic girl who can’t get enough #pumpkinspice, I really love Teavana’s Pumpkin Spice Brûlée Oolong Tea. It’s not too strong on the pumpkin flavor (which is good, since it’s tea!), but it’s a sweet afternoon tea that’s the perfect foray into fall. (PS – it’s currently on sale. Not sure if this is related to the sale at all, but now is the best time if you’re looking to try out this flavor!)
A Good Pair of Booties
You can’t go wrong with a good, comfortable pair of booties. The pair I’ve worn for the past two years have seen better days, so it’s fun to look at all the new styles. I really like this pair and this other one. Which do you prefer?!
A Comfy Sweater
I recently bought this Gap sweater, and it’s honestly one of the best finds. Not only is it cute, but it’s SO warm. In fact, it’s a little too warm for the weather we’ve been having, but I can’t wait to wear it once it chills down some more.
There’s nothing quite like curling up with a good book in bed or reading under the autumn sun. I’m (still) currently reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is the ultimate series for a good fall/winter read. What’s on your fall reading list?
