I don’t know about you, but Sundays are sometimes the absolute best day of the week. A day of ultimate relaxation. When I was in high school, I dreaded Sundays with a passion. It only meant that the next day would bring another full week of school and my Sunday night usually consisted of dance team practice and last-minute homework. Ever since I started college and even now, I love Sundays. It’s probably one of my favorite days of the week. I usually sleep in a bit, drink some coffee or make a pot of tea, and try to soak in as much me-time as possible.
Today I’m going down to Lincoln Center to spend the day at the New York Film Festival. This is my fourth year going (!!) and it’s always one of my favorite times of the year. A full slate of new movies, revivals, and two and a half weeks of nothing but film. I’ve already seen 7 movies (including The Walk and The Martian – both are outstanding, go see them!) and participated in 3 Convergence events. And, no, I’m not burning a hole in my wallet – it helps since Gavin is a member and we get special pricing (and some events are even free!). So I can’t imagine a better way to spend this dreary Sunday than at the NYFF – and you can bet that I’m going to extend these feelings into the rest of my week.
May your Sunday be just as fulfilling!
