My Favorite Things

It’s kind-of-sort-of-maybe becoming spring in NYC. I say that with hesitation because the past two days were so cold, you would have thought it was fall. But since the flowers have been blooming and the forecast is (somewhat) looking up, I’m feeling more and more jazzed about my favorite spring things!

Teavana Tea

As I’m writing this, I realize that I should probably make an entire separate post about all my favorite springtime teas! For some reason, it just feels so appropriate to drink the super fruity and floral teas the minute flowers start to bloom and it warms up outside.

Screen Shot 2015-04-10 at 12.07.12 PMI recently sampled the Youthberry Wild Orange Blossom Tea Blend ($19.98/4 oz.) at my local Teavana, and it’s basically the most heavenly thing you’ll drink all spring. It’s full of antioxidants and just a dash of caffeine, so you can drink this blend all day long.

Screen Shot 2015-04-10 at 12.07.20 PMI also sampled the Peach Tranquility Herbal Tea ($6.98/2 oz.), which is the perfect fruity tea you’ve been missing all winter long. This one is caffeine-free, so it’s perfect if you’re caffeine-sensitive or just looking for something to give you a bit more namaste in your life.

Eucalyptus Mint candle

pBBW1-19329356v275I’m so, so, so obsessed with this Bath & Body Works candle. I got it for Christmas, and I swear I burn it almost daily. It smells so amazing, fresh, and makes my apartment feel so airy! The larger-sized candle ($22.50) has three wicks and lasts for a really long time. Definitely a must-have for that fresh spring-clean smell.

Kiss Me Balm

Screen Shot 2015-04-10 at 12.13.37 PMIsn’t this the cutest lip balm ever? It gives my lips the prettiest shade of pink and it even smells like cotton candy! It’s a bit more hydrating than eos (gasp!), and you definitely get the bang for your buck ($8, Sephora). Cotton candy not your thing? Well, there’s 6 “flavors” in all, and some colors are more subtle than others.

Spring Mocs

1731127-p-MULTIVIEWThese are pretty much my go-to spring shoes ($42.95). They’re perfect for errand-running, work, class, dinner – you name it (just don’t wear them in the rain!). I love Minnetonka moccasins – maybe because they’re from the Midwest, but I think it’s mostly because they make the highest quality mocs you could expect. If you’re looking to buy a pair, be sure to size down – they stretch out a bit (it’s expected! I sized down a whole size, from a 7 to a 6). Also, the design on the upper sole is just so cute and matches with nearly any outfit. The only deceiving thing about this picture is that the taupe suede is lighter than it appears.

Ok, so this one you can’t technically purchase, but you should definitely appreciate it them while they’re here! I’m obsessed with all the flowers popping up (quite literally) around the city. Tulips, daffodils, crocus… They’re bloomin’ everywhere! The Highline blog is even posting a Plant of the Week to showcase all the plant life appearing along the tracks each week. As the saying goes… April showers bring May flowers

**Also, while researching NYC spring flowers, I found an Annual Tulip Festival happening in my neighborhood in just two weeks! I’ll definitely have to check it out. Watch my Instagram feed that weekend!
