Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

This is the first mother’s day since I can remember that I’m not spending with my mom. It’s super bittersweet. I’m so glad that I get to see her less than a week from now, but I’m sad that I can’t celebrate with her today.

But, since I know she reads my blog, I thought I’d include some cross-country mother’s day love from NYC.

The Best Day

This song has the amazing ability to make my weepy every time I listen to it. I remember when it first came out, and it’s still one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs. If you haven’t listened to it, here’s the video. And if you’d prefer to just read the lyrics, I have that too:

The Best DayAren’t these lyrics the best? It always makes me think of my own memories with my mom, and when she was there for me when it felt like no one else was. 5350_4757673592164_893909450_n

^^^This is one of the only pictures where I think we look alike. My mom and I swear that we don’t look alike AT ALL, but so many people call us twins!

My mom is truly my best friend. She doesn’t judge my decisions. She gives me the best advice. She’s the best shopping companion. She can read me inside and out. We love gossiping with each other. I inherited some pretty great genes from her, too.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I can’t wait to spend the next few weeks with you!
